Flat out denying or dismissing them as apostate lies is the only way for the dubs to reduce the cognitive dissonance that arises from learning that their governing body god is a LIAR.

Wow, the year is 2008, and still no Armageddon!
by Nosferatu inevery time we enter a new year, i think about how i wasn't supposed to make it this long.
i really believed we wouldn't live past the year 2000, and armageddon would change everything.
it almost strikes me as living on borrowed time, but then i remember that armageddon is a story, not a reality.

Most important, this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure new world before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away. –Awake!, January 1, 1995, page 2.
Jehovah's prophetic word through Christ Jesus is: "This generation [of 1914] will by no means pass away until all things occur." (Luke 21:32) And Jehovah, who is the source of inspired and unfailing prophecy, will bring about the fulfillment -The Watchtower, May 15, 1984, page 6-7.
If you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things. -Awake!, May 22, 1969, page 15.
The apostle Paul was spearheading the Christian missionary activity. He was also laying a foundation for a work that would be completed in our 20th century. -The Watchtower, January 1, 1989, p. 12.

: yes i wholely believe and trust in the governing body.
Your governing body tells you that by associating with apostates, you are actually sharing in their sins. In fact, according to your governing body, by even saying a greeting to an apostate, which I have personally observed you doing, you have become a sharer in the apostate's sins. By sharing in their sins, it follows that you will suffer the same fate as those that have apostacized.
This is according to your governing body, whom you "wholely believe and trust"....
I find it difficult to believe you when you say you BELIEVE and TRUST the governing body given your continued association with "apostates" publicly and via pm's on this site....
Perhaps you would explain?
*** w85 11/15 pp. 19-20 pars. 10-11 Do Not Share in the Sins of Others ***
The apostle John showed that it is possible to share in another person’s sin. He wrote: “Everyone that pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God. . . . If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into your homes or say a greeting to him. For he that says a greeting to him is a sharer in his wicked works.” (2 John 9-11) An apostate from “the teaching of the Christ” would not be a worthy associate, and by not even greeting him, the loyal Christian would avoid being a sharer in his wickedness. Since that is the case with an apostate, surely we would not want to become sharers in the wickedness of others whose immoral acts come to our attention. -

Hostility to God's "name"
by AwSnap ini was given the brochure the divine name that will endure forever, and was pointed to page 20 which is entitled "hostility to god's name?".
it says that the word jehovah was originally in the hebrew scriptures but was taken out.
is this true?

Carla, good points.
To make the point to JWs in the past, I would strip all the vowels out of the JW's name and replace them with vowels from another word and then ask the JW whether it was still his name.......

"Jehovah" is not God's name. It's just a made up word based on the amalgamation of a couple other words.
Word Origin & History
Jehovah
1530, Tyndale's erroneous transliteration of Heb. Tetragramaton YHWH, using vowel points of Adhonai "my lord" (see Yahweh). Used for YHWH (the full name being too sacred for utterance) in four places in the Old Testament in the K.J.V. where the usual translation lord would have been inconvenient; taken as the principal and personal name of God. The vowel substitution was originally made by the Masoretes as a direction to substitute Adhonai for "the ineffable name." European students of Heb. took this literally, which yielded L. JeHoVa (first attested in writings of Galatinus, 1516). Jehovah's Witnesses "member of Watchtower Bible and Tract Society" first attested 1933; the organization founded c.1879 by Charles Taze Russell (1852-1916); the name from Isa. xliii:10. -

Are the Jehovah's Witnesses, under the direction of the GB Jah's org?
by isaacaustin inplease let active jws comment here first.
i am especially inerested in their response as to whether the governing body is god's channel of truth, leading the members of the congregations, the sum of whom cumulatively make up jehovah's organization.
if so, why, and on what basis..

: Issaac you suprise me...sadly
Angeleyes: sadly, nothing about your response suprises me.
trollOne who purposely and deliberately (that purpose usually being self-amusement) starts an argument...on a forum without in any way listening to the arguments proposed by his or her peers. He will spark such an argument...with no substance or relevence to back them up as well as straw man arguments, which he uses to simply avoid addressing the essence of the issue. ...Trolls often go by multiple names to circumvent getting banned.

Angeleyes my dear,
: The org have nothing to do with politics (the u.n rumour was a lie which they confirmed!)
In what way was it a lie? Are you saying you disbelieve they were part of the UN in a non-governmental capacity - same as every other religion?
Why do you believe its a lie? Did you do any research or do you simply accept the WTS's statement on the matter? Perhaps they are the ones who are lying.
: Do they use Jahs name in their worship?
First of all "Jehovah" is not God's name. It never was. It's just a made up word based on the combination of two other words.
Secondly, yes, they do. I've heard the word "Jehovah" used countless times at numerous churches. But the only place I've heard it OBSESSED over is at the Kingdom Hall.
: Jw are the one religion i know where those who leave or are removed continue to attack the org...thats evidence that we as apart of Jahs org must be serving Jehovah for we well know that we shall be attacked.
Google "Mormonism". Google "Christian Science". Google "Scientology". Google "Unification Church". Google "Christadelphians". Google "Adventism".
Seriously, you have to do some research. So many of your beliefs are based on PARTIAL information.
: They do not have angelic revelation
I agree with you. But Rutherford did not:
"Certain duties and kingdom interests have been committed by the Lord to his angels, which include the transmission of information to God's anointed people on the earth for their aid and comfort." –Preparation, 1933, page 36.
"These angels are invisible to human eyes and are there to carry out the orders of the Lord. No doubt they first hear the instruction which the Lord issues to his remnant and then these invisible messengers pass such instructions on to the remnant." –Vindication III, 1932, page 250.
Was Rutherford wrong when he claimed to have angelic revelations? If so, why should I believe the leaders of the WTS now when they claim to receive information from the Holy Spirit?
:Yes they believed 1914 the end would come, yes an error but humbly they admitted they were wrong.
Humbly? More often then not, they shift the blame to the rank and file members who they say inferred more than was said.
: They arent false prophets
How so? What is your defition of a false prophet? If they were false prophets, would you still follow them?
